Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was in the state of prostration and some people were present around him. At that time, Uqbah bin Abi Mu’ait came with the (intestines of a camel) and placed it on the back of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) did not raise his head. Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) came and removed it from the back of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and supplicated against the one who had done this. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed:“O Allah, seize some individuals of Quraysh in Your grip: Abu Jahl bin Hisham, Utbah bin Rabi’ah, Shaybah bin Rabi’ah, Uqbah bin Abi Mu’ait, Umayyah bin Khalaf (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words), Ubayy bin Khalaf.”This doubt is from the narrator named Shu’bah. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Battle of Badr, I saw all these people that their (bodies) were thrown into a well. Only Umayyah was not thrown in because his body was torn into pieces. He was not thrown into the well.
