Sahih Ibn Hibban
كِتَابُ إِخْبَارِهِ ﷺ عَنْ مَنَاقِبِ الصَّحَابَةِ رِجَالِهِمْ وَنِسَائِهِمْ بِذِكْرِ أَسْمَائِهِمْ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Book of the Prophet’s ﷺ Reports on the Virtues of the Companions, Men and Women, by Name
ذكر إظلال الملائكة بأجنحتها عبد الله بن عمرو بن حرام إلى أن دفن-
Hadith Number: 7021
اخبرنا ابو خليفة ، حدثنا ابو الوليد الطيالسي ، حدثنا شعبة ، عن محمد بن المنكدر ، قال: سمعت جابرا ، يقول: لما قتل ابي يوم احد، جعلت ابكي واكشف الثوب عن وجهه، وجعل اصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ينهوني، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لا تبكه، ما زالت الملائكة باجنحتها تظله حتى دفنتموه" .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When my father was martyred at the Battle of Uhud, I began to weep and started to remove the cloth from his face. The companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to stop me from doing so. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not weep over him until you have buried him. The angels will continue to shade him with their wings.
