Sahih Ibn Hibban
كِتَابُ إِخْبَارِهِ ﷺ عَنْ مَنَاقِبِ الصَّحَابَةِ رِجَالِهِمْ وَنِسَائِهِمْ بِذِكْرِ أَسْمَائِهِمْ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

ذكر عمرو بن العاص السهمي رضي الله عنه-
Hadith Number: 7092
اخبرنا الحسن بن سفيان ، حدثنا حبان بن موسى ، اخبرنا عبد الله بن المبارك ، اخبرنا موسى بن علي بن رباح ، قال: سمعت ابي ، يقول: سمعت عمرو بن العاص ، يقول: فزع الناس بالمدينة مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فتفرقوا، فرايت سالما مولى ابي حذيفة احتبى بسيفه، وجلس في المسجد، فلما رايت ذلك فعلت مثل الذي فعل، فخرج رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فرآني وسالما، واتى الناس، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" يا ايها الناس، الا كان مفزعكم إلى الله ورسوله؟ الا فعلتم كما فعل هذان الرجلان المؤمنان" .
Sayyiduna Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once, in Madinah Munawwarah, people became anxious with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so they scattered here and there. I saw Salim, the freed slave of Sayyiduna Abu Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him), that he had drawn his sword and was sitting in the mosque. When I saw him, I did the same as he did. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived, he saw me and Salim, then other people also came. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O people! What is the reason that you did not come to Allah and His Messenger in your anxiety, and what is the reason that you did not do what these two believing men did?
