Sahih Ibn Hibban
كِتَابُ إِخْبَارِهِ ﷺ عَنْ مَنَاقِبِ الصَّحَابَةِ رِجَالِهِمْ وَنِسَائِهِمْ بِذِكْرِ أَسْمَائِهِمْ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Book of the Prophet’s ﷺ Reports on the Virtues of the Companions, Men and Women, by Name
ذكر عمرو بن العاص السهمي رضي الله عنه - ذكر نفي دخول النار عن حاطب بن أبي بلتعة رضي الله عنه-
Hadith Number: 7120
اخبرنا ابن قتيبة بعسقلان، حدثنا يزيد بن موهب ، حدثني الليث ، عن ابي الزبير ، عن جابر ، ان عبدا لحاطب بن ابي بلتعة جاء رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: يا رسول الله، ليدخلن حاطب النار، فقال له رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:" كذبت، إنه لا يدخلها، فإنه قد شهد بدرا والحديبية" .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The slave of Sayyiduna Hatib bin Abi Balta’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Hatib will surely enter Hell. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: You have lied; he will not enter Hell because he participated in the Battle of Badr and the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah.
