Sahih Ibn Hibban
كِتَابُ إِخْبَارِهِ ﷺ عَنْ مَنَاقِبِ الصَّحَابَةِ رِجَالِهِمْ وَنِسَائِهِمْ بِذِكْرِ أَسْمَائِهِمْ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Book of the Prophet’s ﷺ Reports on the Virtues of the Companions, Men and Women, by Name
ذكر عمرو بن العاص السهمي رضي الله عنه - ذكر البيان بأن كون جبريل عليه السلام مع حسان بن ثابت ما دام يهاجي المشركين إنما كان ذلك بدعاء المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم-
Hadith Number: 7148
اخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد الازدي ، حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم ، اخبرنا سفيان ، عن الزهري ، عن سعيد بن المسيب ، ان عمر مر حسان بن ثابت هو ينشد في المسجد، فنظر إليه فالتفت حسان إلى ابي هريرة ، فقال له: انشدك الله هل سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول:" اجب عني، اللهم ايده بروح القدس؟"، قال: نعم .
Saeed bin Musayyib narrates: Once, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by Sayyiduna Hassan bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him), who was reciting poetry in the mosque. He looked towards Sayyiduna Hassan (may Allah be pleased with him), so Sayyiduna Hassan (may Allah be pleased with him) looked towards Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and said to him: I ask you by Allah, did you hear the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say this: "Respond on my behalf; O Allah! Support him with the Holy Spirit." Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: Yes.
