Sahih Ibn Hibban
كِتَابُ إِخْبَارِهِ ﷺ عَنْ مَنَاقِبِ الصَّحَابَةِ رِجَالِهِمْ وَنِسَائِهِمْ بِذِكْرِ أَسْمَائِهِمْ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

ذكر عمرو بن العاص السهمي رضي الله عنه - ذكر تعظيم النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم صفية ورعايته حقها-
Hadith Number: 7211
اخبرنا احمد بن علي بن المثنى ، قال: حدثنا محمد بن عبد الملك بن زنجويه ، قال: حدثنا عبد الرزاق ، قال: اخبرنا معمر ، عن ثابت ، عن انس ، قال: بلغ صفية ان حفصة، قالت لها: ابنة يهودي، فدخل عليها النبي صلى الله عليها وسلم وهي تبكي، فقال صلى الله عليه وسلم:" وما يبكيك؟"، قالت: قالت لي حفصة: إني بنت يهودي، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم:" إنك لابنة نبي، وإن عمك لنبي، وإنك لتحت نبي، فبم تفخر عليك؟"، ثم قال صلى الله عليه وسلم:" اتقي الله يا حفصة ".
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) was informed that Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) had said about her: She is the daughter of a Jew. When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), she was crying. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Why are you crying? She replied: Hafsah said about me: I am the daughter of a Jew. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You are the descendant of a Prophet, your (forefathers) had a Prophet as an uncle, and you are the wife of a Prophet, so what is it that Hafsah can boast over you for? Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said (to Sayyidah Hafsah, may Allah be pleased with her): O Hafsah, fear Allah.
