The Book of Dealing With Actions In As-Salat (The Prayer)
بَابُ التَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ:
(5) Chapter. Clapping [during the Salat (prayer)] is permissible only for women.
Hadith Number: 1203
حدثنا علي بن عبد الله، حدثنا سفيان، حدثنا الزهري، عن ابي سلمة، عن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم , قال:" التسبيح للرجال والتصفيق للنساء".
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "The saying 'Sub Han Allah' is for men and clapping is for women." (If something happens in the prayer, the men can invite the attention of the Imam by saying "Sub Han Allah". And women, by clapping their hands).
حكم: أحاديث صحيح البخاريّ كلّها صحيحة
Hadith Number: 1204
حدثنا يحيى، اخبرنا وكيع، عن سفيان، عن ابي حازم، عن سهل بن سعد رضي الله عنه , قال: قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم:"التسبيح للرجال والتصفيح للنساء".
Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d: The Prophet said, "The saying 'Sub Han Allah' is for men and clapping is for women.
