وحدثنا ابو بكر بن ابي شيبة ، حدثنا وكيع ، عن ابن عون ، عن زياد بن جبير ، قال: جاء رجل إلى ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما، فقال: إني نذرت ان اصوم يوما، فوافق يوم اضحى او فطر، فقال ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما: " امر الله تعالى بوفاء النذر، ونهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن صوم هذا اليوم "..
Ziyad bin Jubair reported that a person came to Ibn 'Umar (RA) and said: I had taken a vow that I would fast on the day (but it accidentally) synchronises with the day of Adha or the day of Fitr. Thereupon Ibn 'Umar (RA) said: Allah, the Exalted, has commanded fulfilling of the vow, but the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) has forbidden the observance of fast on this day.

وحدثنا ابن نمير ، حدثنا ابي ، حدثنا سعد بن سعيد ، اخبرتني عمرة ، عن عائشة رضي الله عنها، قالت: " نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن صومين: يوم الفطر، ويوم الاضحى ".
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) said that the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) forbade to observe fast on two days-the day of Fitr and the day of Adha.

Nubaisha al-Hudhali reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: The days of Tashriq are the days of eating and drinking.

حدثنا محمد بن عبد الله بن نمير ، حدثنا إسماعيل يعني ابن علية ، عن خالد الحذاء ، حدثني ابو قلابة ، عن ابي المليح ، عن نبيشة ، قال خالد: فلقيت ابا المليح فسالته فحدثني به فذكر، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بمثل حديث هشيم، وزاد فيه: " وذكر لله ".
Nabaisha reported that Khalid said: I met Abu Malih and asked him and he narrated it to me from the Apostle of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) . A hadith like one (narrated above) with this addition: "And remembrance of Allah"

وحدثنا ابو بكر بن ابي شيبة ، حدثنا محمد بن سابق ، حدثنا إبراهيم بن طهمان ، عن ابي الزبير ، عن ابن كعب بن مالك ، عن ابيه انه حدثه، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " بعثه واوس بن الحدثان ايام التشريق، فنادى انه لا يدخل الجنة إلا مؤمن، وايام منى ايام اكل وشرب "،
Ibn Ka'b bin Malik reported on the authority of his father that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) sent him and Aus bin Hadathan during the days of Tashriq to make this announcement: None but the believer would be admitted into Paradise, and the days of Mina' are the days meant for eating and drinking.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibrahim bin Tahman with the same chain of transmitters but with this variation that he said: Both of them made the announcement."

حدثنا عمرو الناقد ، حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة ، عن عبد الحميد بن جبير ، عن محمد بن عباد بن جعفر ، سالت جابر بن عبد الله رضي الله عنهما، وهو يطوف بالبيت انهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن صيام يوم الجمعة؟، فقال: " نعم ورب هذا البيت "،
Muhammad bin 'Abad. Ja'far reported: I asked Jabir bin 'Abdullah (Allah be pleased with both of them) as he was circumambulating the House (Ka’bah) whether the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) had forbidden the fasting on Friday, whereupon he said: Yes, by the Lord of this House.

Muhammad bin 'Abad. Ja'far reported that he asked Jabir bin'Abdullah (RA) , whether he had heard like this from the Apostle of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) .

وحدثنا ابو بكر بن ابي شيبة ، حدثنا حفص ، وابو معاوية ، عن الاعمش . ح حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى واللفظ له، اخبرنا ابو معاوية ، عن الاعمش ، عن ابي صالح ، عن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " لا يصم احدكم يوم الجمعة، إلا ان يصوم قبله، او يصوم بعده ".
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported the Apostle of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: None among you should observe fast on Friday, but only that he observes fast before it and after it.

وحدثني ابو كريب ، حدثنا حسين يعني الجعفي ، عن زائدة ، عن هشام ، عن ابن سيرين ، عن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " لا تختصوا ليلة الجمعة بقيام من بين الليالي، ولا تخصوا يوم الجمعة بصيام من بين الايام، إلا ان يكون في صوم يصومه احدكم ".
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) as saying: Do not single out the night (preceding) Friday among the nights for prayer and do not single out Friday among days for fasting but only when anyone among you is accustomed to fast (on dates) which coincide with this day (Friday).
