Musnad Umar bin Abdul Aziz
بَابُ بَيَانِ قِرَاءَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَكَيْفِيَّةِ التِّلاَوَةِ فِي الرَّكَعَاتِ
Chapter: Clarification of the recitation of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, in prayer and the manner of recitation in the rak'ahs
Hadith Number: 78
حدثني حدثني محمد بن وزير الدمشقي، ثنا الوليد بن مسلم، ثنا ابن جابر، ان يحيى بن يحيى الغساني، حدثه , عن محمود بن لبيد الانصاري حدثه، عن الصنابحي، انه صلى خلف ابي بكر الصديق رضي الله عنه، " فقرا في الركعتين الاوليين بام القرآن وسورة من قصار المفصل، يجهر بالقراءة، فلما قام في الثالثة ابتدا القراءة، فدنوت منه حتى كادت ثيابي تمس ثيابه، فسمعته قرا بام القرآن، وقرا: ربنا لا تزغ قلوبنا بعد إذ هديتنا سورة آل عمران آية 8" .
It is narrated from Abu Abdullah al-Sanasaji that he performed the (Maghrib) prayer behind Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him). In the first two rak'ahs, he recited Surah Al-Fatihah and one short surah from the Mufassal with loud recitation. Then, when he stood up for the third rak'ah and began the recitation (al-Sanasaji says), I came so close to him that my clothes were touching his clothes. I heard him recite Umm al-Qur'an, and this verse: "Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us." [آل عمران: 8]

Chapter: Clarification of the action of Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, regarding the hadith narrated from al-Sinasiji
Hadith Number: 79
حدثنا محمد بن وزير، ثنا الوليد، عن ابي عمرو، ومالك بن انس , عن ابي عبيد صاحب ابن سليمان، ان قيس بن الحارث ، حدث عمر بن عبد العزيز، انه سمع الصنابحي يحدث بمثل ذلك قال ابو عبيد: فاخبرني عبادة بن نسي انه سمع عمر بن عبد العزيز يقول لقيس بن الحارث: كيف حدثتني عن الصنابحي؟ فحدثه بهذا الحديث، فقال عمر: ما تركتها منذ سمعتها منك قبل ذلك.
Muhammad bin Wazir narrated to us the hadith, he said: Walid narrated to us from Abu Amr and Malik bin Anas, from Abu Ubaid, the companion of Ibn Suleiman, that Qais bin Harith narrated to Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, he heard it from Sanasaji, who narrates similar to the previous hadith. Abu Ubaid said: Ubadah bin Nasi informed me, he heard Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, saying to Qais bin Harith: How did you narrate the hadith to me from Sanasaji? He narrated this hadith to Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, so Umar, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Since I heard this hadith from you before, I have not stopped acting upon it.
