The water of the Pool from the river of al-Kawthar
Hadith Number: 13123
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: In Paradise, there is a river named Kawthar, its banks are of gold, its water flows over pearls, its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I entered Paradise, and there I saw a river whose banks were of tents made of pearls. I put my hand into the flowing water, and it was the most intensely fragrant musk. I said: O Jibril! What is this? He said: This is the Kawthar which Allah Almighty has granted to you.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about Kawthar. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is a river which my Lord has granted me. Its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey, and in it there will be birds with necks like those of camels. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! Those birds will be very excellent. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Umar! Those who eat them will be even better and superior than them.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The two sons of Malika came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: Our mother greatly honored her husband, was very compassionate to her children, and was very hospitable to guests. However, she committed one mistake: in the time of ignorance, she buried her children alive. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Your mother is in Hell. Hearing this, they turned back, and disappointment and grief were evident on their faces. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called them back. When they returned, signs of happiness were visible on their faces; they hoped that something new had occurred. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: My mother is with your mother. A hypocrite said: We follow this Messenger, and he could not even save his own mother from Hell. An Ansari, who used to ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) many questions, said: Has your Lord told you anything about you and your mother? He thought that this was something the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had heard from Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have not asked my Lord anything about this, nor do I need to; on the Day of Resurrection, I will be standing at the Station of Praise (Maqam-e-Mahmood). The Ansari asked: What is meant by the Station of Praise? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, when people will be brought forth naked, barefoot, and uncircumcised, the first to be clothed will be Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Allah, the Exalted, will say: Clothe My Friend. Then two white sheets will be brought and given to him, and he will wear them. After that, he will sit facing the Throne. Then my garment will be brought to me, and I will also wear it and stand to the right of the Throne at a place where no one else will be able to stand except me. All the people, former and latter, will envy me for this honor. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: From the river Kawthar, a stream will be made to flow towards the Pond. Hearing this, the hypocrites said: The water of rivers flows over soil and pebbles. The Ansari said: O Messenger of Allah! Will the water of Kawthar flow over soil and pebbles? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Its soil will be musk and its pebbles will be pearls. The hypocrite said: We have only ever heard that the water of rivers, when it flows over soil and pebbles, causes crops to grow. The Ansari said: O Messenger of Allah! Will anything grow from that water? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, yes, golden sprouts will emerge. The hypocrite said: We have never heard such a thing; rarely does a sprout grow without leaves or sometimes even fruit. The Ansari said: O Messenger of Allah! Will the thing that grows from it also bear fruit? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, yes, it will have colors like jewels; its water will be whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. Whoever drinks that water once will never feel thirsty again, and whoever is deprived of it will never be quenched thereafter.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In the Hereafter, I will have a cistern; its expanse will be as much as the distance from Aylah to Sana'a, its width will be equal to its length, into it will fall two streams of water coming from Paradise, one stream will be of silver and the other of gold. Its water will be sweeter than honey, colder than ice, and whiter than milk. Whoever drinks from it once will not feel thirst until he enters Paradise. The number of its cups will be as many as the stars in the sky.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has promised me that He will admit seventy thousand individuals from my Ummah into Paradise without reckoning. Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Yazid bin Akhnas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah! This number in your Ummah is like a reddish-white bee among common bees. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: My Lord has promised me seventy thousand, and with every thousand, He has promised an additional seventy thousand, and on top of that, there are three handfuls of Allah Almighty besides this number. He then said: O Prophet of Allah! What is the expanse of your Hawd (Pond)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The distance from Aden to Oman, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his hand and said: Rather, it is even more vast than that, more vast than that. It will have two channels, one of gold and the other of silver. He said: O Prophet of Allah! What will the water of your Hawd be like? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It will be whiter than milk, sweeter than honey, and more fragrant than musk. Whoever drinks from it once will never feel thirst again, and his face will never become dark. Abdullah bin Imam Ahmad says: I found this hadith written in my father's book in his own handwriting, and it was marked, from which I understood that the hadith is not correct in this form; in fact, this hadith is narrated through the chain: from Zayd, from Abu Salam, from Abu Umamah. The denial of the Pool by Ubaydullah ibn Ziyad, then his retraction and affirmation
Hadith Number: 13131
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Ubaydullah bin Ziyad summoned me, and when I went to him, he said: What are these kinds of hadiths you narrate from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), of which there is no mention in the Book of Allah? You state that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) will have a pond in Paradise. Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us about this and also promised it to us. Ubaydullah said: You are wrong, you have grown old and your mind has gone. Sayyiduna Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: My ears heard this from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and my heart remembered it, and I also know this statement of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): Whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me, let him prepare his abode in Hell, and I do not lie against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Buraidah Aslami رضي الله عنه reports that Ubaidullah bin Ziyad began to have doubts about the Hawd (the Prophet’s Pond), so he summoned Sayyiduna Abu Barzah Aslami رضي الله عنه. When he went to him, his companions said to him: The Amir has called you so that we may ask you about the Hawd—did you hear anything from the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم regarding the Hawd? He said: Yes, I heard the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم mention it, and whoever denies it, Allah Almighty will not let him drink from it.
