Mukhtasar Sahih Bukhari
Speaking is prohibited in prayer.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says that we used to greet the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with salam while he was in prayer, and he (peace be upon him) would also reply to us. Then when we returned from Najashi (the king of Abyssinia), we greeted the Prophet (peace be upon him) with salam during prayer, but he did not reply to us. After completing the prayer, he said: In prayer, one is engaged (with Allah). Therefore, during prayer, one should not be engaged in anything else.
Narrated Sayyiduna Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him): We used to talk during the prayer in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Any one of us would say his need to the one next to him, until this verse was revealed: "Guard strictly your prayers, especially the middle prayer, and stand before Allah with devotion." (Surah Al-Baqarah: 238). So we were commanded to observe silence in prayer.
Touching pebbles during prayer.
Sayyiduna Muqib (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding a person who used to level the earth while prostrating: "If you must do so, then do not do it more than once."
If one's animal runs away while praying.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him): He performed prayer during a state of war while holding the reins of his mount in his hand. The mount was moving forward restlessly and he was following behind it. When he was asked about this matter, he said: I have participated in six campaigns with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), or seven, or eight, and I have seen his moderation and ease. Indeed, I prefer to remain with my mount rather than leave it and let it go to its stable (which is very far from here), and then I would face hardship.
Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated the complete hadith regarding the solar eclipse (see the Book: On the Description of Eclipses... Chapter: Giving Charity During a Solar Eclipse...), and in this narration, after the statement of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that“Indeed, I saw Hell, and a part of it was consuming another part,”she said that (the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said):“And I saw ‘Amr bin Luhayy in Hell, and this ‘Amr bin Luhayy is the person who introduced the custom of setting animals free in the names of idols.”
Not replying to greetings verbally during prayer.
‘Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent me for some task of his. So I went and completed that task and returned, then I presented myself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and greeted him with salam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not reply to my salam, so my heart felt such grief as only Allah knows. Then I said to myself that perhaps the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is displeased with me because I delayed in coming to him. I again greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with salam, and he did not reply, so now my heart felt even more grief than the first time. Then I greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with salam again, so he replied to me and said:“The thing that prevented me from replying to your salam was that I was performing prayer.”And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was on his mount, and his face was not even towards the qiblah.’
Placing hands on hips in prayer is prohibited.
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade: "No person should pray with his hand placed on his hip."
