مختصر صحيح بخاري
Mukhtasar Sahih Bukhari
If someone borrows with intent to repay or waste it.
Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "Whoever takes people's wealth (as a loan) and intends to repay it, Allah will enable him to repay it. And whoever takes people's wealth intending to waste it, Allah will cause it to be wasted."
Repaying debts is essential.
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and when he saw Uhud, he said: "I do not wish that if this mountain were turned into gold for me, even a single dinar from it would remain with me after three days, except for that dinar which I keep aside for the payment of a debt." Then he (peace be upon him) said: "Those who possess much wealth, their good deeds are very few, except for the one who spends his wealth like this, but such people are few." And he (peace be upon him) said (to Sayyiduna Abu Dharr): "Stay at your place until I come to you." Then he (peace be upon him) went ahead a little, and I heard a (terrifying) sound, so I intended to go to him, but then I remembered his words: Stay at your place until I come to you. So when he (peace be upon him) came, I said: O Messenger of Allah! What was that sound I heard? He (peace be upon him) said: "Did you hear it?" I replied: Yes. He (peace be upon him) said: "Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to me and said: Whoever from your Ummah dies in the state that he does not associate anything with Allah, he will enter Paradise." I said: Even if he does such and such (major sins)? He said: Yes."
Paying dues in a good manner is better.
Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while he was in the mosque, and it was the time of Duha (forenoon). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Pray two rak'ahs." And I had some debt upon the Prophet (peace be upon him). He (peace be upon him) paid my debt and gave me more than what was due.
Praying over a debtor who died.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever is a believer, I am his closest friend in this world and the Hereafter. If you wish, recite this verse: 'The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves' (Al-Ahzab: 6). Therefore, if a believer dies and leaves behind some wealth, then his heirs, whoever they may be, are entitled to that wealth. But if someone leaves behind a debt, children, or something that is likely to be lost, then let him come to me, for I will take care of it."
Prohibition of wasting wealth.
Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said (one day):“Allah has made disobedience to mothers, burying daughters alive, not fulfilling rights, and taking what is not rightfully yours forbidden for you. And He has disliked for you idle talk, excessive questioning, and wasting wealth.”
