Having witnesses in a gift is permissible.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: My father gave me something, so (my mother) Amrah bint Rawahah said that I am not pleased until you make the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) a witness to this. So he went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and submitted: I have given something to my son who is from Amrah bint Rawahah, but Amrah (my wife) said that I should make the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) a witness to it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked:“Have you given the same to all your sons?”He replied: No. So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Fear Allah and be just among your children.”(Nu’man, may Allah be pleased with him, says that) then he took back what he had given.
A man giving a gift to his wife and vice versa.
Narrated Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The one who takes back his gift is like a dog that vomits and then eats its vomit."
A woman gifting to others in her husband's presence and a slave girl's emancipation is allowed.
Narrated from Ummul Momineen Maimunah bint Al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with her) that she freed one of her slave girls without seeking permission from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then, when it was her turn (the day when the Prophet would stay with her), she said, "Do you know that I have freed my slave girl?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Have you really freed her?" She replied, "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If you had given her to your maternal relatives, you would have obtained more reward in that."
Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to travel, he would draw lots among his wives. Whosever name was drawn, he would take her with him. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would assign one day and night for each of his wives, except for Sawda bint Zam’a (may Allah be pleased with her), who gave her day and night to Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), seeking thereby the pleasure of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
How to take possession of a slave and property?
Sayyiduna Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) distributed some cloaks and did not give any to Sayyiduna Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him), so he said, "O my son! Take me to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." So I went with him. Then he said, "Go inside and call the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on my behalf." He says that I called you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so you came out and one of those cloaks was with you. You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "This we have kept for you." When he saw it, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Is Makhramah pleased or not?"
Gifting something disliked to wear.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went to the house of Sayyidah Fatimah al-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her), but he did not enter it (he returned from outside). When Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came, Sayyidah Fatimah al-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her) informed him about it. He then asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) regarding this matter, so he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I saw a silk curtain at the door." (That is why I returned.) He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What do we have to do with the world?" Then he went back to the house and informed them of this. Sayyidah Fatimah al-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her) said that whatever you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) command regarding it (that will be done). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Give this curtain to such-and-such needy people."
Amir al-Mu'minin Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent me a striped silk garment, and I wore it. Accepting gifts from polytheists is permissible.
Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We were one hundred and thirty men with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: "Does anyone among you have any food?" Then a person had about one sa’ of grain, etc., which was kneaded. After that, a tall, disheveled-haired polytheist came, driving his goats. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him: "Are these for sale or a gift from someone?" Or the Prophet (peace be upon him) used the word "hiba" instead of "gift." He said, "No, rather they are for sale." So the Prophet (peace be upon him) bought a goat from him, then it was slaughtered, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered that the liver, etc., be roasted. By Allah, there was not a single person among the one hundred and thirty men to whom the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not give pieces of liver. Whoever was present, he gave to him, and whoever was not present, he set aside for him. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) placed the meat of the goat in two large trays, so all the people ate and we were all satisfied, and still, whatever was left in the trays, we put it on the camel, or he said something similar.

(I neither allowed her to enter the house nor accepted her gift.) After that, I sought a verdict from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). I also said that my mother has come to me with affection, so should I treat my mother well? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Yes, treat your mother well."
(Chapter)

So Marwan, based on his testimony, ruled in favor of the daughters of Sayyiduna Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him).
