Allah’s statement: Allah took Abraham as a friend.
`Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will be gathered (on the Day of Resurrection) barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised." Then he recited this verse: "Just as We began the first creation, We shall repeat it; (it is) a promise binding upon Us, and We shall certainly fulfill it." (Al-Anbiya: 104) And on the Day of Resurrection, the first to be clothed will be Ibrahim (peace be upon him), and from my Ummah, many people will be dragged towards the left (towards Hell), so I will say: 'These are my companions, these are my companions.' Then it will be said: 'These people, after you passed away, turned back from Islam.' At that time, I will say what a righteous servant (Isa, peace be upon him) said: 'And I was a witness over them while I remained among them (and observed their condition)... You are the Mighty, the Wise.'" (Al-Ma'idah: 117, 118)

Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "Ibrahim (peace be upon him) will meet his father Azar on the Day of Resurrection, and Azar's face will be dark and covered with dust. Ibrahim (peace be upon him) will say to him: 'Did I not tell you (in the world) not to disobey me?' His father will say: 'Today I will not disobey you.' Then Ibrahim (peace be upon him) will say: 'O my Lord! You promised me that You would not disgrace me on the Day of Resurrection, so what disgrace could be greater than that my father is (disgraced and) far from Your mercy?' Allah the Exalted will say: 'I have made Paradise forbidden for the disbelievers.' Then it will be said: 'O Ibrahim! Look at what is beneath your feet.' He will look and see a hyena covered in filth, then it will be seized by its legs and thrown into Hellfire (meaning his father will be turned into a hyena)."

Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that it was said to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! Who is the most honorable among the people (in the sight of Allah)? The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: "The most pious among them." The people said: We are not asking about this. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "(In terms of lineage and family nobility, the most virtuous was) Yusuf (peace be upon him), who was a prophet, the son of a prophet, the grandson of a prophet, and the great-grandson of a prophet, Allah's Khalil (peace be upon him)." They said: We are not asking about this either. So the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Are you asking about the families of the Arabs? Those who were the best among the people in the days of ignorance are the best in Islam as well, provided they gain understanding of Islam (and acquire its knowledge)."

Narrated Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Two (angels) came to me at night (in a dream), then they took me to a man who was so tall that I was about to not be able to see his head, and that man was Ibrahim (Abraham), peace be upon him."

Narrated Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If you want to see Ibrahim (peace be upon him), then look at your companion (Muhammad, peace be upon him), and Musa (peace be upon him) had curly hair, wheat-colored complexion, (riding) a red camel, which had a bridle made of palm fiber, as if I am seeing him descending into the valley (saying Labbaik)."

Narrated from Sayyida Umm Sharik (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered the killing of the lizard. This hadith has been mentioned earlier, but here there is an additional detail: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "It used to blow on the fire against Ibrahim (peace be upon him), (while the other animals were trying to extinguish it)."

Narrated Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him): I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Which mosque was built first on the earth?" He (peace be upon him) replied, "Al-Masjid al-Haram." Then I asked, "Which one next?" He (peace be upon him) replied, "Al-Masjid al-Aqsa (Bayt al-Maqdis)." I asked again, "What was the period between the two?" He (peace be upon him) replied, "Forty years." (This period was probably mentioned with reference to the first construction, i.e., during the time of Adam, peace be upon him, because there is more than a thousand years between Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him, and Prophet Sulaiman, peace be upon him.) Then he (peace be upon him) said, "Wherever you are when the time for prayer comes, pray there. Indeed, there is great virtue in performing the prayer at its time."
