Allah’s saying:“Say: O My servants who have transgressed against themselves...”(Surah Zumar: 53)
Narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that some polytheists who had committed many murders and had indulged excessively in adultery came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "What you say and what you call towards is very good. If you could tell us whether the sins we have committed will be forgiven (if we accept Islam)?" At that time, this verse was revealed: "And those who do not invoke any other god along with Allah, nor kill such a person as Allah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit adultery." (Al-Furqan: 68) And this verse was also revealed: "(O Prophet! Say on My behalf) Say: O My servants who have wronged their souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah." (Az-Zumar: 53)
Allah’s saying:“They did not appraise Allah with true appraisal...”(Surah Zumar: 67)
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A scholar from among the Jewish scholars came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said,“O Muhammad! We find it written in the Torah that Allah, on the Day of Resurrection, will place all the heavens on one finger, all the earths on one finger, all the trees on one finger, all the water and moist soil on one finger, and all the creatures on one finger, then He will say: ‘I am the King.’”Upon hearing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled so much that his teeth became visible, confirming the words of that scholar. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse:“And they did not appraise Allah with true appraisal as is due to Him...”(Az-Zumar: 67) (to the end). (The conclusion is that Allah’s worth is limitless and cannot be estimated.)
Allah’s saying:“On the Day of Judgment, the whole earth will be in His grip...”(Surah Zumar: 67)
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Allah, the Exalted, will take the earth in His grasp and will roll up the heavens in His right hand, then He will say: I am the (true) King! Where are the kings of the earth (who used to show off their grandeur to Me)?"
Allah’s saying:“When the Trumpet is blown, all in the heavens and earth will fall unconscious...”(Surah Zumar: 68)
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The interval between the two trumpet blasts is forty." The people asked Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, "Forty days?" He said, "I cannot say." (The questioner) said, "Forty years?" He said, "I cannot say." (The questioner) said, "Forty months?" He said, "I cannot say." (And he said that in the grave): "The whole body of a human being decays except the coccyx, and from this (coccyx) the whole body will be reassembled (again)."
