مختصر صحيح بخاري
Mukhtasar Sahih Bukhari
Righteous people’s dreams.
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The good dreams of a righteous person are one part out of forty-six parts of prophethood."
Good dreams are from Allah.
‘Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that’ the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“When any one of you sees a dream that he finds good, then it is from Allah. He should thank Allah for it and relate it (to his friends). And if he sees other than that, a dream that seems bad, then it is from Satan. He should seek refuge with Allah from its evil and not mention it to anyone, for then it will not harm him.”
Good dreams are glad tidings.
Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say, "Nothing of prophethood remains except glad tidings (mubashshirat)." The companions asked, "What are glad tidings?" He (peace be upon him) said, "Good dreams." (Mubashshirat means glad tidings and good news.)
Seeing the Prophet in a dream.
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever sees me in a dream will soon see me while awake, and Satan cannot take my form."
Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever sees me (in a dream), indeed he has seen me, for Satan cannot imitate my appearance."
Dreams during the day.
`Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to visit Umm Haram bint Milhan (may Allah be pleased with her), and she was the wife of Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him). One day, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to her, and she served him food and began to look at his head as if searching for lice. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell asleep, and then when he woke up, he woke up smiling. Umm Haram said, "O Messenger of Allah! What makes you smile?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Some people from my Ummah were shown to me, fighting in the way of Allah, riding on the sea (on ships), like kings on thrones or like kings sitting on their thrones." This doubt is from the narrator Ishaq. Umm Haram (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "I said, O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah that He makes me among them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for her, then rested his head and slept again. Then he woke up smiling. Umm Haram (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "I said, O Messenger of Allah! (Now) what makes you smile?" He said: "Some people from my Ummah were presented before me, fighting in the way of Allah," as he had said the first time. She said, "I said, Pray to Allah that He makes me among them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will be among the first ones." Thus, Umm Haram (may Allah be pleased with her) boarded a ship in the sea during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him), and when she came out of the sea, she fell from her riding animal and passed away.
Seeing imprisonment in a dream.
Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When the Hour draws near, the dream of a believer will not be false (rather, it will be absolutely true), and the dream of a believer is one part out of forty-six parts of Prophethood, and whatever is from Prophethood can never be false."
Moving something from one place to another in a dream.
Narrated Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I saw (in a dream) as if a black woman with unkempt hair was coming out of Medina and settling at Mahya‘ah (i.e., Al-Juhfa)." (The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:) "I interpreted that as the epidemic of Medina being transferred there."
Punishment for lying about dreams.
Narrated Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever describes a dream which he did not see (i.e., lies), he will be made to tie two grains of barley together on the Day of Resurrection, but he will not be able to do so. And whoever listens to the conversation of people who dislike him listening and move away from him, molten lead will be poured into his ears on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever makes a picture, he will be punished and will be asked to put a soul into it, but he will not be able to do so."
Narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The greatest lie is that a person claims to have seen something with his eyes (i.e., a dream) which he has not seen."
