Praying two rak‘ahs in mosque upon return from travel
`Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I went with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in a battle, and my camel delayed and became tired, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) arrived before me, and I reached the mosque the next day and found him at the door of the mosque. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Have you just arrived?" I said, "Yes." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Leave your camel and go into the mosque and perform two rak‘ahs." Then I went and performed two rak‘ahs and came back.

Ruling on prayer during fear
`Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that we fought in jihad with a tribe of Banu Juhainah in the company of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). They fought us very fiercely. Then, when we had performed the Zuhr prayer, the polytheists said, "If only we launched a sudden attack on them, we would cut them down." Jibreel informed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) of this, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned it to us. And he said that the polytheists (also) said, "They have another prayer coming which is dearer to them than their children." Then, when the time for Asr came, we formed two rows (one behind the other), and the polytheists were facing the Qiblah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said the opening Takbeer, and we all said it as well. He (peace and blessings be upon him) bowed in Ruku', so we also bowed (i.e., both rows participated up to Ruku'), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) and the people of the first row performed the prostration (Sajdah). Then, when he (peace and blessings be upon him) and the first row stood up, the second row performed the prostration, and the front row moved to the back and the back row came forward. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said Allahu Akbar, and we also said it, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) bowed in Ruku', so we also bowed, and the people of the first row performed the prostration with him (peace and blessings be upon him), and the people of the second row remained standing as they were. Then, when the others had also performed the prostration, all sat down. And all of us said the Salam with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Abu az-Zubair said that Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) also said another thing: "Just as your rulers nowadays perform the prayer."

Prayer of solar eclipse
Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), there was a solar eclipse. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up for prayer and stood for a very long time. Then he bowed (ruku’) and performed a very long bowing. Then he raised his head and stood for a long time, but less than the first standing. Then he bowed and performed a long bowing, but less than the first bowing. Then he prostrated (sajdah). (There were two bowings in one rak’ah, and this is also the view of Imam Shafi’i, may Allah have mercy on him.) Then he stood up and stood for a long time, but less than the previous standing. Then he bowed and performed a long bowing, but less than the previous bowing. Then he raised his head and stood for a long time, but less than the previous standing. Then he bowed and performed a long bowing, but less than the previous bowing. (There were also two bowings here.) Then he prostrated and finished, and by that time the sun had become clear. Then he delivered a sermon to the people, praised and glorified Allah, and said:“The sun and the moon are among the signs of Allah, and they do not eclipse because of anyone’s death or life. So when you see an eclipse, glorify Allah, supplicate to Him, pray, and give charity. O Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! There is no one more possessive than Allah regarding His servant or maidservant committing adultery. O Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! By Allah! If you knew what I know, you would weep much and laugh little. Listen! Have I not conveyed the command of Allah?”

Prayer for rain (Istisqa)
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zaid Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out to the Eid ground and prayed for rain. And when he intended to supplicate, he faced the Qiblah and turned his cloak inside out. And in another narration, it is mentioned that (the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned his back to the people and began to supplicate to Allah, and faced the Qiblah and turned his cloak inside out, then he offered two units of prayer.

Blessing of rain
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when it rained upon us, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) removed his garment until the rainwater reached him. We said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Why did you do this? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Because it has just now come from its Lord.

Seeking Allah’s protection during wind and clouds, and rejoicing at rain
Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that it was the noble habit of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that when a strong wind would blow, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite this supplication:“O Allah, I ask You for the goodness of this wind, the goodness within it, and the goodness of what it has been sent with. And I seek refuge with You from its evil, the evil within it, and the evil of what it has been sent with.”And Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that when clouds appeared in the sky and there was thunder and lightning, (out of fear) the color of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) face would change, and sometimes he would go outside, sometimes come inside, sometimes move forward, and sometimes move backward. Then, if it started to rain, the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) anxiety would go away. Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that I recognized this from the blessed face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so I asked him about it, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“O Aisha! I fear that it may be as it was with the people of ‘Ad, who saw: ‘This is a cloud coming towards us,’ and they said, ‘This cloud will bring us rain,’ (but it was the punishment coming upon them).”
