The Prophet’s dream
`Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: One night, while sleeping, I saw in a dream as if we were in the house of Uqbah bin Rafi', and fresh dates were brought before us, which are called the dates of Ibn Tab. I interpreted this as meaning that our rank will be elevated in this world, we will have a good end in the Hereafter, and surely our religion is better and excellent.

Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: I saw in a dream that I was migrating from Makkah to a land where there are date-palm trees. My assumption went towards Yamamah and Hajar, but it turned out to be Madinah, whose name is also Yathrib. And in that same dream, I saw that I shook a sword and it broke from the top. Its interpretation turned out to be the defeat of the Muslims on the day of Uhud. Then I shook the sword a second time and it became as strong and good as before from the front. Its interpretation was that Allah the Exalted granted victory and the group of Muslims was established (meaning after the battle of Uhud, Khaybar and Makkah were conquered and the army of Islam gained strength). And in that same dream, I saw cows (that were being slaughtered), and Allah the Exalted is better (as this phrase is said: Allah is better). By this were meant those Muslims who were martyred at Uhud, and by "goodness" was meant the goodness that Allah the Exalted sent after that, and the reward of truthfulness that Allah the Exalted granted us after Badr.

The Prophet’s dream about Musaylimah and Aswad the liars
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Musaylimah the Liar (who falsely claimed prophethood and for this reason was given the title "the Liar"; after the death of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he was killed along with his followers) came to Madinah during the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: "If Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) gives me succession after him, I will follow him." Musaylimah the Liar had brought many people from his tribe with him. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came to him, and with him was Thabit bin Qais bin Shamas (may Allah be pleased with him), and in the hand of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was a piece of wood. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, stood among the people of Musaylimah and said: "O Musaylimah! Even if you ask me for this piece of wood, I would not give it to you, and I am not going to decide about you against the command of Allah. And if you do not accept what I say, Allah the Exalted will kill you." (This statement of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came true.) "And indeed, I know you as the one about whom I was shown in a dream, and Thabit will answer you on my behalf." Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, left from there. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I asked people, "What did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, mean by saying: 'You are the one shown to me in a dream about you'?" So Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I was sleeping when I saw (in a dream) two gold bangles in my hand. They seemed evil to me, and in the dream it was inspired to me to blow on them, so I blew and both of them flew away. I interpreted it as two liars who will appear after me. One of them is the 'Anasi from Sana'a and the other is the Yamamah one (Musaylimah the Liar)."

Whoever sees me in a dream has truly seen me
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "Whoever sees me in a dream will soon see me while awake, or he said: Whoever sees me in a dream has indeed seen me while awake. Satan cannot take my form." Abu Salamah said that Abu Qatadah said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has seen me has seen the truth."

Good dreams are from Allah, bad dreams from Satan
Abu Salamah says: I heard from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: A good dream is from Allah Almighty and a bad dream is from Satan. So when any of you sees a disliked dream, he should spit to his left side or (without spitting) blow lightly and seek refuge in Allah from its evil, then that dream will not harm him. Abu Salamah said: I used to see some dreams that were heavier upon me than a mountain, but when I heard this hadith, I no longer cared about them.

Good dreams are from Allah; do not relate disliked dreams
Abu Salamah says: I used to see such dreams that (because of fear of them) I would fall ill. Then I met Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) (and asked him about this). He said that I was also in the same condition, until I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A good dream is from Allah, so when any of you sees a good dream, he should not relate it except to his friend. And when he sees a bad dream, he should spit three times to his left and seek refuge with Allah from the evil of Satan, and he should not relate it to anyone, then it will not harm him."

If one sees a bad dream, seek refuge and turn side
`Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any of you sees a dream which he dislikes, he should spit three times to his left and seek Allah’s protection from Satan three times, and turn to the other side from which he was lying.

A believer’s dream is one of forty-six parts of prophethood
`Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The dream of a believer is one part out of forty-six parts of prophethood. (That is, there are forty-six important things in prophethood, and one of them is a true dream.)

Good dreams are one of seventy parts of prophethood
`Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A good dream is one part out of seventy parts of prophethood. (This chapter and hadith are not present in the book verified by Albani)

Near the Hour, a believer’s dream will not be false
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) said: When the Day of Judgment draws near, a Muslim’s dream will not be false, and the truest dream among you will be of the one who is most truthful in speech. And a Muslim’s dream is one part out of forty-five parts of Prophethood. And dreams are of three types: one is a good dream which is glad tidings from Allah Almighty, the second is a distressing dream which is from Satan, and the third is a dream which is a thought from one’s own heart. So when any of you sees a bad dream, he should stand up and offer prayer and not mention it to people. And I consider seeing chains on the feet in a dream to be good, and a collar around the neck to be bad. The narrator (Ayyub) said: I do not know whether this statement is part of the hadith or the words of Ibn Sirin.
