Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim
On the removal of knowledge and spread of ignorance.
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: "Shall I not narrate to you the hadith which I heard from the Messenger of Allah, and after me there will be no person who will narrate this hadith to you having heard it from him (the Prophet)?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Among the signs of the Hour is that knowledge will be taken away, ignorance will spread, adultery will become open, and wine will be drunk. Men will decrease to the extent that for fifty women there will be only one man to look after them (i.e., many men will be killed in battles and women will remain)."

About the seizure of knowledge.
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The time will draw near and knowledge will be taken away (i.e., the time of the Hour will approach), and tribulations will spread. Stinginess will be cast into the hearts (people will not give zakat and charity), and there will be much 'harj'." The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is 'harj'?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Killing and bloodshed (i.e., murder and slaughter)."

Knowledge is taken away by the removal of scholars.
‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin al-‘As (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:“Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will not take away knowledge by snatching it from the hearts of the people, but He will take away knowledge by taking away the scholars. Until, when no scholar remains, people will take the ignorant as their leaders. They will be asked (about religious matters) and they will give verdicts without knowledge. They will go astray themselves and will lead others astray as well.”

Whoever initiates a good or bad practice in Islam.
‘Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that some Bedouins came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); they were wearing blankets. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw their bad condition, he encouraged the people to give charity. The people delayed in giving charity, to the extent that the sadness became apparent on the face of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Then an Ansari man came with a bag of silver coins, then another came, until (charity and donations) formed a chain, and happiness became apparent on the face of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Whoever initiates a good practice in Islam (i.e., establishes a good deed which is rewarded according to Shariah and its example is found in the Qur’an and Sunnah), and then people act upon it after him, he will have a reward equal to all those who act upon it, and nothing will be diminished from the reward of those who act. And whoever initiates an evil practice in Islam (for example, an innovation or sinful act), and people act upon it after him, then the sin of all those who act upon it will be written for him, and nothing will be diminished from the sins of those who act.

Whoever calls to guidance or misguidance.
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever calls towards guidance, he will have the reward of those who follow it, and nothing will be diminished from their reward. And whoever calls towards misguidance, he will have the sin of those who follow it, and nothing will be diminished from their sin.

About writing other than the Quran and avoiding lying about the Prophet (ﷺ).
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: (My words) do not write from me, and whoever has written anything from me other than the Qur'an should erase it, but do not erase the Qur'an. However, narrate my hadith, there is no harm in that, and whoever deliberately attributes a lie to me, let him prepare his abode in Hell.

Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say,“To lie about me is not like lying about anyone else. (Because lying about someone else may harm the liar himself, or the one about whom the lie is told, or at most three people. But lying about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) can mislead an entire world and harm mankind.) So whoever deliberately lies about me, let him prepare his abode in the Hellfire.”

Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub and Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with them) say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever narrates a hadith from me and thinks that it is a lie, then he himself is a liar.
