Sayyida Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah bin Abi Mu'it (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "He is not a liar who reconciles between people, so he says good things or spreads good things." She says: I did not hear the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) permit lying except in three cases: to reconcile between people, a husband to his wife, and a wife to her husband.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him), who reports from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said:“Adhere to truthfulness, for truthfulness leads to righteousness and obedience, and righteousness paves the way to Paradise. Indeed, a person continues to speak the truth until he is recorded with Allah as a very truthful person. And beware of lying, for lying leads to wickedness and immorality, and wickedness drives one towards the Fire. A person continues to lie until he is recorded with Allah as a great liar.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "No one is more patient over a hurtful thing he hears than Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) distributed wealth (on the occasion of the Battle of Hunayn) as he used to do before (and in this, the Prophet gave preference to the new Muslims). An Ansari man said:“By Allah! Allah’s pleasure was not intended in this distribution.”I said:“I will surely inform the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about this.”So I went to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and informed him of this in a whisper. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was sitting among the Companions at that time. This matter was very hard on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and the color of his face changed, and he became extremely angry, to the extent that I wished I had not informed him (that would have been better). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Indeed, Musa (peace be upon him) was harmed with even more than this, but he remained patient.”
