It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would enter Makkah Mukarramah, he would enter from "Thaniyyah 'Ulya" and when he would leave, he would leave from "Thaniyyah Sufla."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the house of Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her). He saw a curtain hanging at the door of her house, so he turned back from there. It was very rare that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would go to her and not begin with her. In short, after a little while, Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came and saw that Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) appeared sad. He asked, "What happened?" She replied, "The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came, but did not enter the house (and returned from outside)." Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Fatimah has felt this very deeply that you came to her but did not enter the house?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "What concern do I have with the world? What concern do I have with these decorated curtains?" Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) went to Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) and conveyed to her the statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). She said, "Please ask the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), what is the command for me now?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Tell Fatimah to send it to the people of such-and-such tribe."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was surprised to see the fine dates and asked,“Where did these dates come from?”Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) informed him that he had given two sa’ and taken one sa’ of dates. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to give his noble wives one hundred wasqs every year, of which eighty wasqs were dates and twenty wasqs were barley. When Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was honored with the position of caliphate, he distributed Khaybar and gave the noble wives the choice: if they wished, they could take a piece of land, or if they wished, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) would continue to give them one hundred wasqs every year as before. Some of the noble wives preferred to take a piece of land, and some preferred to continue receiving one hundred wasqs as before.
