Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to give charity, so Abdullah (bin Mas'ud’s, may Allah be pleased with him) wife Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with charity and said: O Messenger of Allah! Abdullah has little wealth and I have orphaned nephews, so if I spend on them from charity, will it suffice on my behalf, while I spend on them from such and such sources, and in every situation (I spend on them)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Yes.”The narrator stated, she was a craftswoman.
