Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: My tongue was unrestrained with my family (I would say whatever came to my tongue), but I would not speak badly to anyone else. Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about this (with regret), so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Where are you from seeking forgiveness? That is, why do you not seek forgiveness? I myself seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times every day."

Abu Ishaq said: I narrated this hadith to Sayyiduna Abu Burdah and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, the sons of Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with them both), so both of them said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times every day and I say: «استغفر اللّٰھ و أتوب إليه» ."
