Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I went to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and he was suffering from a severe fever. I placed my hand on him and said: O Messenger of Allah! You are suffering from a severe fever. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“I experience fever equal to that of two men among you.”Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked: Is this because your reward is also doubled? He said:“Yes (it is so), and whenever any Muslim suffers from any illness or any other hardship, his sins fall away just as leaves fall from a tree.”
