It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most handsome of all people, the most generous of all, and the bravest of all. One night, the people of Madinah were frightened, so they headed towards the direction from which the noise had come. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was coming back from that direction ahead of them—he had reached the source of the sound before anyone else. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was saying:“Do not be afraid, do not be afraid.”At that time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was riding the horse of Abu Talhah without a saddle, on its bare back. A sword was hanging from his neck. He said:“I found it (the horse) to be like the sea,”or he said,“Indeed, it is like the sea (i.e., very swift).”
