Dawud bin Qais narrated that I saw the (rooms of the wives of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ); they were made of palm branches. From the outside, they were covered with hair-cloth mats, and I think that the width of the house from the door of the room to the door of the house was six or seven handspans. And I estimated the inner part of the house; its length from inside was ten handspans, and the height was between seven and eight handspans, or close to that. I stood at the door of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her); this door was towards the west.
