Musnad of Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 105
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا عبيدة بن حميد ، حدثني عبيد الله بن عمر ، عن نافع ، عن ابن عمر ، عن عمر بن الخطاب ، قال: سئل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ايرقد الرجل إذا اجنب؟ قال:" نعم، إذا توضا".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: If a person becomes impure by choice, can he sleep in that state? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! He should perform ablution and then sleep."
حكم دارالسلام: إسناده صحيح
