It is narrated from Hazrat Dakin bin Saeed Al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we presented ourselves before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Our total number was four hundred and forty people. We came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with a request for grain. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), "Get up and give them grain." He submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) I have only as much grain as will suffice me and my children for just four months." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) repeated his command. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as you command, I will fulfill it immediately." Thus, Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up, and we also went along with him. He took us to one of his rooms, took out the key, and opened the door. We saw that there were heaps of dates in the room like the young of a goat. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Take as much as you want." So each of us took dates according to his need. I was the last among them. When I observed, it seemed as if even after all of us together had taken, not a single date had decreased from it. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.
