Hadith Number: 1905
Ibn Abi Mulaikah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that during the illness of death of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), Sayyidina Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) sought permission to enter upon her. Her nephews were with her. She said: "I fear that he will come and praise me." Nevertheless, she gave permission. He came in and said: "Only so much time remains between you and your friends as it takes for the soul to depart from the body. Among all the pure wives of the Prophet (peace be upon him), you were the most beloved to him, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) loved only that which was pure. On the occasion of Laylat al-Abwa, your necklace broke and fell, and verses of the Noble Qur'an were revealed regarding your matter. Now, there is no mosque of the Muslims where your excuse is not recited day and night." Hearing this, she said: "O Ibn Abbas! Leave these praises of yours. By Allah! My wish is... (that I am neither at loss nor gain)."
