It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among us to give admonition and advice and said: "On the Day of Resurrection, all of you will be presented before Allah barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised. The command of the Lord is: «‏‏‏‏﴿كَمَا بَدَأْنَا أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُعِيدُهُ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ﴾ [الأنبياء: 104] » 'As We created you the first time, We shall recreate you (again). This is a promise binding upon Us, and We shall certainly fulfill it.' Then, among the creation, Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him), who is the Friend of Allah, will be the first to be clothed. Then, from among you, a group will be seized from the left side. I will say, 'O Lord! These are my companions.' It will be said to me, 'You do not know what innovations they introduced after you. After your passing and your separation from them, they turned back from their faith and persisted in that state.' Upon hearing this, I will say what the righteous servant, that is, Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him), said: «﴿وَكُنْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا مَا دُمْتُ فِيهِمْ . . . . . فَإِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ﴾ [المائدة: 117-118] » 'As long as I remained among them, I watched over their affairs... Surely, You are the Mighty, the Wise.'"
