It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman Fahri (may Allah be pleased with him) that I was with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Battle of Hunain. We set out on one of the hottest days in intense heat. On the way, we camped under some shady trees. When the sun had declined, I put on my armor, mounted my horse, and presented myself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). At that time, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in his tent. I greeted him with "Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah," and asked, "Is it time to depart?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Yes!" Then he called for Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), who jumped out from under an acacia tree as if he were a bird's shadow, and said, "At your service and obedience, may I be sacrificed for you." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Saddle my horse." So he brought out a saddle whose both sides were filled with palm bark and in which there was no pride or arrogance, and he saddled it. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mounted, and we also mounted. In the battlefield, from the time of Isha until the whole night, we kept arranging the ranks. When the horses of both groups clashed with each other, the Muslims turned their backs and fled, just as Allah Almighty has mentioned. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O servants of Allah! I am the servant and Messenger of Allah, I am here." Then he said, "O group of Muhajireen! I am the servant and Messenger of Allah, I am here." After this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) jumped off his horse, picked up a handful of dust, and according to the closest person to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he threw that dust at the faces of the enemy and said, "May these faces be disfigured." Thus, Allah defeated the polytheists. The polytheists themselves said to their sons, "Not a single one of us was left whose eyes and mouth were not filled with dust, and we heard a sound between the earth and the sky like the sound produced when iron is dragged over an iron plate."
