Ahadith of men from the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith Number: 23120
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر ، حدثنا شعبة ، اخبرني عبيد المكتب ، قال: سمعت ابا عمرو الشيباني يحدث , عن رجل من اصحاب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: سئل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: اي العمل افضل؟ قال شعبة: او قال: " افضل العمل الصلاة لوقتها، وبر الوالدين، والجهاد" .
It is narrated from a Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "Which deed is the best?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "The best deed is to perform prayer at its appointed time, to treat parents with kindness, and to strive in the way of Allah (jihad)."
