مسند عبد اللہ بن العباس بن عبد المطلب رضي اللہ عنهما
Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith Number: 2878
(حديث مرفوع) حدثنا يحيى بن آدم ، حدثنا مسعر ، عن عمرو بن مرة ، عن سالم بن ابي الجعد ، عن اخيه ، عن ابن عباس ، قال: اراد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ان يتوضا من سقاء، فقيل له: إنه ميتة. قال:" دباغه يذهب خبثه، او رجسه، او نجسه".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted to perform ablution from a waterskin, so someone informed him that it was made from the skin of a dead animal. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Tanning removes its filth and impurity."
حكم دارالسلام: حسن، وفي سنده أخو سالم ابن أبى الجعد، فيه جهالة
