Sayyiduna Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated it as marfu‘ to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:“It is not lawful for a man to give a gift and then take it back, except for a father regarding what he gives to his son. And the example of one who gives a gift and then takes it back is like a dog that eats, and when it is full, it vomits, then returns to its vomit.”
