Chapters on Virtues and Construction of Mosques
(602) باب ذكر العلة التى لها أمر بالإمساك على نصال السهم إذا مر به فى المسجد
The chapter on the reason for the command to hold the arrowheads when passing through the mosque
Hadith Number: 1318
نا موسى بن عبد الرحمن المسروقي ، حدثنا ابو اسامة ، عن بريد ، عن ابي بردة ، عن ابي موسى ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " إذا مر احدكم في مسجدنا او في سوقنا ومعه نبل فليمسك على نصالها بكفه ان يصيب احدا من المسلمين منها شيء"، او قال:" فليقبض على نصولها"
Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you passes through our mosque or our market carrying arrows, he should hold them by their heads, so that they do not harm any Muslim." Or he said: "He should hold their heads."
