Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to us after the prayer on the day of Eid al-Adha. Sayyiduna Abu Burdah bin Niyar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted,“O Messenger of Allah, I slaughtered my goat before the prayer and also ate from it.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Your goat is just a goat for meat. (It is not a sacrifice.)”And the rest of the hadith was narrated. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I have mentioned this hadith in the Book of Sacrifices.
