Chapters on Prayers while Traveling
(383) باب ذكر خبر احتج به بعض من خالف الحجازيين فى إزماع المسافر مقام أربع أن له قصر الصلاة
383 Chapter: Mentioning a Report Used by Some Who Differed from the People of Hijaz Regarding the Traveler Intending to Stay Four Days and His Right to Shorten the Prayer.
Hadith Number: 962
ان يونس بن عبد الاعلى ثنا، قال: اخبرنا ابن وهب ، اخبرني عمرو بن الحارث ، ان قتادة بن دعامة ، اخبره، عن انس ، انه حدثه، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " صلى الظهر والعصر والمغرب والعشاء، ورقد رقدة بالمحصب، ثم ركب إلى البيت، فطاف به" . قال ابو بكر: ثم خرج صلى الله عليه وسلم من ليلته تلك متوجها نحو المدينة
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers (in Makkah Mukarramah), then rested for a while in the valley of Muhassab, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) rode and came to the House of Allah and performed its Tawaf. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out for Madinah Munawwarah that very night.
