باب الصداق وجواز كونه تعليم قرآن وخاتم حديد وغير ذلك من قليل وكثير واستحباب كونه خمسمائة درهم لمن لا يجحف به
Dowry: may be teaching Quran, iron ring, or anything small or large; recommended to be 500 dirhams if affordable
Hadith Number: 899
899 صحيح حديث انس رضي الله عنه، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، راى على عبد الرحمن بن عوف اثر صفرة قال: ما هذا قال: إني تزوجت امراة على وزن نواة من ذهب، قال: بارك الله لك، اولم ولو بشاة
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a trace of yellow color on Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked, "What is this?" He replied, "I have married a woman for a dowry of gold equal to the weight of a date stone." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "May Allah bless you. Give a wedding feast, even if it is with only one goat."
