Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and Tawus (may Allah have mercy on him) narrate that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Dhu’l-Hulayfah as the miqat for the people of Madinah, Juhfah for the people of Sham, Qarn al-Manazil for the people of Najd, and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. Amr says: Ibn Tawus has said“Aslam.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: These miqats are for the residents of those places and also for those coming from other areas who pass through them. And for those who live within the miqat, their miqat will be from their own homes, until even the people of Makkah will assume ihram from Makkah itself.
