باب قدر المسافة التى تقصر فى مثلها صلاة وقدر المدة
Chapter on the distance in which prayer is shortened and the duration

حدثنا عبد الله بن محمد ، ثنا خلف بن هشام ، حدثنا ابو شهاب ، عن عاصم ، عن عكرمة ، عن ابن عباس ، قال:" اقمنا مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في سفر سبع عشرة نقصر الصلاة" . قال ابن عباس: ونحن نقصر سبع عشرة، فإن زدنا اتممنا.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: We stayed at a place for seventeen days during a journey with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and during that time we performed shortened prayers (qasr). Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: We will perform shortened prayers for seventeen days; if we stay longer than that, then we will perform the full prayer.
