Discussion on Funerals
باب التسليم فى الجنازة واحدا والتكبير أربعا وخمسا وقراءة الفاتحة
Chapter on saying salam once in the funeral prayer, saying takbir four or five times, and reciting Al-Fatiha

حدثنا ابو علي إسماعيل بن محمد الصفار ، نا محمد بن علي الوراق ، نا ابو غسان ، حدثنا جعفر الاحمر ، عن يحيى التيمي ، عن عيسى مولى حذيفة، قال: صليت خلف مولاي وولي نعمتي العبد الصالح حذيفة بن اليمان على جنازة فكبر خمسا، فقال:" ما وهمت، ولكن كبرت كما كبر خليلي ابو القاسم صلى الله عليه وسلم" .
The servant of Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him), Isa, narrates: I performed a funeral prayer behind my master (Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin Yaman, may Allah be pleased with him), who is a righteous man, and he said the takbir five times. Then he stated: "I was not mistaken, rather I pronounced the takbir just as my beloved friend, Sayyiduna Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him, i.e., the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him), pronounced the takbir."
