Abdur Rahman bin Ghanm reports: I asked Sayyiduna Mu’adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) about a menstruating woman who becomes pure shortly before sunset. He replied:“She should perform the ‘Asr prayer.”I asked:“What about the one who becomes pure before the disappearance of twilight?”He replied:“She should perform the Maghrib prayer.”I asked:“If she becomes pure before true dawn?”He replied:“She should perform the ‘Isha prayer.”I asked:“What about the one who becomes pure before sunrise?”He replied:“She should perform the Fajr prayer.”The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed us in this manner:“We should teach our women, that is, our wives, this matter.”This narration has been transmitted by a narrator named Muhammad bin Sa’eed. This person is abandoned in hadith.
