It is narrated from Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Muqarrin (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), a man abused another man, while he replied:“Peace be upon you.”Seeing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Beware! Indeed, there is an angel among you who defends you. Whenever that man abuses you, the angel says to him: ‘Rather, it is you yourself, and you are more deserving of that abuse.’ And when the oppressed says: ‘Peace be upon you,’ the angel says: ‘No, rather this peace is for you, and you are more deserving of it yourself.’”
