Chapter: What has been reported regarding Umayyah bin Abi al-Salt and some of his poetry
Hadith Number: 10450
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said from the pulpit: The truest verse of poetry ever spoken by the Arabs is: "Ala kullu shay'in ma khala Allah batil" (Be aware! Everything besides Allah Almighty is falsehood), and it was near that Umayyah bin Abi Salt would have become Muslim.
