Chapter: What has been reported regarding the continued reward of migration for those who migrated to Madinah before the conquest, even if they resided elsewhere afterward
Hadith Number: 10646
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to Madinah Munawwarah and met Sayyiduna Buraidah bin Husaib. He said: O Salamah! Have you abandoned your migration? He replied: I seek refuge with Allah! I have come with the permission of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: O Banu Aslam! Live in the villages, enjoy the scent of the winds, and dwell in the valleys. They said: O Messenger of Allah! We fear that this may harm our migration. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Now, wherever you are, you will remain migrants.
