Chapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding His Burial, Grave, and the Change in Circumstances After His Death
Hadith Number: 11054
عن ابن جريج قال اخبرني ابي ان اصحاب النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم لم يدروا اين يقبرون النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم حتى قال ابو بكر رضي الله عنه سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم يقول ”لن يقبر نبي إلا حيث يموت“ فاخروا فراشه وحفروا له تحت فراشه
It is narrated from Ibn Jurayj, who says: My father informed me that the companions of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not understand where they should bury the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), until Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say that a prophet is buried at the place where he passes away. Thus, the bed of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was removed and the place beneath it was dug for the grave.
