Chapter on What Has Been Reported Regarding Allah’s Care for Him and Protection From the Deficiencies of the Age of Ignorance and Idol Worship
Hadith Number: 11245
عن هشام يعني ابن عروة عن ابيه قال حدثني جار لخديجة بنت خويلد انه سمع النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم وهو يقول لخديجة ”اي خديجة والله لا اعبد اللات والعزى والله لا اعبد ابدا“ قال فتقول خديجة خل العزى قال كانت صنمهم التي كانوا يعبدون ثم يضطجعون
It is narrated from Urwah, who says: A neighbor of Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) told us that she heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying to Sayyidah Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her): "Khadijah! By Allah, I do not worship Lat and Uzza. By Allah, I will never worship them." Sayyidah replied: "Leave the worship of this Uzza (and do not worry)." The narrator says: Uzza was one of their idols; the Arabs used to worship it and then go to sleep.
