The first section regarding the virtues of al-Sham in general
Hadith Number: 12728
وعن خريم بن فاتك الاسدي يقول اهل الشام سوط الله في الارض ينتقم بهم ممن يشاء كيف يشاء وحرام على منافقيهم ان يظهروا على مؤمنيهم ولن يموتوا إلا هما او غيظا او حزنا
Sayyiduna Khuraim bin Fatik Asadi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The people of Sham are Allah’s rod on the earth; through them, Allah will take revenge from whomever He wills, in whatever manner He wills. The hypocrites of Sham will not prevail over the believers there, and they will perish due to some distress, anger, or grief.
