Chapter on Its Time and the Permissibility of Performing It in Congregation
Hadith Number: 2266
عن مورق العجلي قال: قلت لابن عمر رضي الله عنه: اتصلي الضحى؟ قال: لا، قلت: صلاها عمر؟ قال: لا، قلت: صلاها ابو بكر؟ قال لا، قلت: اصلاها النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم؟ قال: لا اخاله
Muraq ‘Ajli says: I asked Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): Do you perform the Duha (forenoon) prayer? He said: No. I asked: Did Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) perform this prayer? He said: No. I asked: Did Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) perform this prayer? He said: No. I asked: Did the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform this prayer? He said: I think that he (peace and blessings be upon him) also did not perform it.
