Chapters on Congregational Prayer
باب من صلى ثم أدرك جماعة فليصلها معهم نافلة
Chapter on one who prayed and then found a congregation, he should pray with them as a voluntary prayer
Hadith Number: 2684
(وعنه من طريق ثان) ان محجنا كان في مجلس رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم واذن بالصلاة فقام رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم فصلى بهم ثم رجع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم ومحجن في مجلسه، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: ((ما منعك ان تصلي مع الناس؟ الست برجل مسلم؟)) وذكر نحو الحديث المتقدم
(Second Chain) Sayyiduna Mihjan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he was in the gathering of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when the call to prayer was given. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and led the prayer. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) returned, he saw that Mihjan was still sitting in the same place, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: What prevented you from praying with the people? Are you not a Muslim? ... ... . (As in the previous hadith)
